The 2023 NNLM Virtual Health Misinformation Symposium is designed to allow you explore both the research behind health mis/disinformation movements and provide practical and evidence-based solutions to support librarians, health educators, and direct care providers in combating the spread of health misinformation.

The event will help attendees:

  • Distinguish between the types of misinformation
  • Describe current research regarding health misinformation
  • Identify and implement resources and tools to combat health misinformation, resources, and tools
  • Explore programs, projects, and practices related to health misinformation in communities

Who Should Attend?

This symposium is for librarians from all types of libraries, public health professionals, health professionals, students interested in research, and researchers.


What to Expect?

  • Three Days: Tuesday, April 4, 2023 – Thursday, April 6, 2023
  • Open to all participants
    • 3 keynote presentations and 3 concurrent sessions on both days
  • 1-hour session times with a 30-minute break before the next one begins. All sessions are live.
  • All this for free!

Who are the Presenters?

This symposium will share knowledge and expertise from the NNLM, librarians, health professionals, and researchers.


What can I expect?

In the Auditoriums
Three auditoriums filled with one-hour sessions beginning at 11:30 AM EDT daily. All sessions are live, with presenters available to answer questions following their presentations. A live Chat feature allows you to share information with peers during the sessions!

In Your Profile
A feature in the virtual platform allows you to find others to chat with based on various filter options focusing on areas of interest or expertise. Visit your profile page and use the filters to auto-match! Once you locate an attendee you’d like to chat with, send a chat request and start networking!
